The Philadelphia Eagles are a professional American football team based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. They are a member of the National Football League (NFL) and compete in the league's National Football Conference (NFC) East division. The team was established in 1933 as a replacement for the bankrupt Frankford Yellow Jackets.
History
The Eagles were founded in 1933 by Bert Bell and Lud Wray. The team struggled in its early years but began to find success in the late 1940s under the leadership of head coach Earle "Greasy" Neale. The Eagles won their first NFL Championship in 1948 and followed it up with another championship in 1949.
