Robert Frascino
Robert Frascino (1952–2011) was an American immunologist and HIV/AIDS activist. He was known for his contributions to the field of immunology and his advocacy for people living with HIV/AIDS. Frascino was also a co-founder of the Frascino Medical Group and the Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation.
Early Life and Education
Robert Frascino was born in 1952. He pursued his medical education at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine, where he earned his MD degree. Following his graduation, Frascino completed his residency in internal medicine and a fellowship in allergy and immunology.
Career
Frascino began his career as an immunologist, focusing on the treatment of allergic diseases and immune system disorders. He co-founded the Frascino Medical Group, which specialized in allergy and immunology. His work in the field earned him recognition as a leading expert in immunology.
HIV/AIDS Activism
In the early 1990s, Frascino was diagnosed with HIV. This diagnosis led him to become an outspoken advocate for HIV/AIDS awareness and treatment. He co-founded the Robert James Frascino AIDS Foundation, which aimed to provide support and resources for individuals living with HIV/AIDS.
