The University of North Texas (UNT) is a public research university located in Denton, Texas. It is part of the University of North Texas System. History
The University of North Texas was founded as the Texas Normal College and Teacher Training Institute in 1890. It underwent several name changes before becoming the University of North Texas in 1988.
