Human Health

Human health (pronunciation: /ˈhjuːmən hɛlθ/) is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. This definition is in accordance with the World Health Organization's (WHO) definition of health.

Etymology

The term 'health' comes from the Old English word 'hǣlth', which is related to 'hālig', meaning 'holy' or 'whole'. The term 'human' comes from the Latin 'humanus', meaning 'of man' or 'human'.
