Program's mission
The program mission is:
- "Mercy Catholic Medical Center is a community teaching hospital that serves as safety-net hospital for the residents of West Philadelphia, Southwest Philadelphia, and northeastern Delaware County, Pennsylvania.
- Our program trains residents at two hospitals which offer the full range of internal medicine cases and services in both an urban and suburban setting.
- Our training is guided by the core principles of our health system which are reverence for each person, care for the poor, stewardship of resources, integrity, and justice.
- We build on this mission and our hospital's 100 year history of unwavering commitment to care for the community to train clinically oriented physicians who will continue to practice in a community setting after completion of training.”
