Gingerbread Creme Brulee[edit]
Gingerbread Creme Brulee is a delicious, keto-friendly dessert that combines the rich, creamy texture of creme brulee with the warm, spicy flavors of gingerbread. This recipe is perfect for those following a keto diet, as it is low in carbs and high in fat.
Ingredients[edit]
- 2 cups of heavy cream
- 1/4 cup of erythritol
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 5 egg yolks
- 1 teaspoon of ground ginger
- 1/2 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground cloves
- 1/4 teaspoon of ground nutmeg
Instructions[edit]
- Preheat your oven to 325 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the heavy cream, erythritol, and vanilla extract. Heat over medium heat until it begins to simmer.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg yolks, ground ginger, ground cinnamon, ground cloves, and ground nutmeg.
- Slowly pour the heated cream mixture into the egg yolk mixture, whisking constantly to prevent the eggs from scrambling.
- Pour the mixture into four ramekins and place them in a baking dish. Fill the baking dish with boiling water until it reaches halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
- Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the creme brulee is set but still slightly jiggly in the center.
- Remove from the oven and let cool to room temperature, then refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.
- Before serving, sprinkle a thin layer of erythritol over the top of each creme brulee and use a kitchen torch to caramelize the sugar.
