Orange juice

Orange juice (pronunciation: /ˈɔrɪndʒ dʒuːs/) is a liquid extract of the orange tree fruit, produced by squeezing or reaming oranges. It comes in several different varieties, including blood orange, navel oranges, valencia orange, clementine, and tangerine.

Etymology

The term "orange juice" is derived from the Old French oirenge, in turn from the Arabic nāranj, through the Persian nārang and the Sanskrit nāranga ("orange tree"). The term "juice" comes from the Latin ius, meaning "broth, sauce, juice."
