Perry DeAngelis
Perry DeAngelis (1963 – August 19, 2007) was an American skeptic and podcaster. He was a co-founder of the New England Skeptical Society (NESS) and a co-host of the popular podcast The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe (SGU).
Early Life and Education
Perry DeAngelis was born in 1963. He developed an interest in science and skepticism early in life. He pursued higher education in the field of history, earning a degree from Central Connecticut State University.
Career
DeAngelis was a prominent figure in the skeptical movement. In 1996, he co-founded the New England Skeptical Society (NESS) along with Steven Novella and others. The organization aimed to promote scientific skepticism and to investigate paranormal and pseudoscientific claims.
The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe
In 2005, DeAngelis became one of the original co-hosts of The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe, a weekly podcast that discusses science, skepticism, and critical thinking. The podcast quickly gained popularity and became a significant platform for the promotion of skeptical inquiry.
