Pforzheimer House is one of the twelve undergraduate residential houses at Harvard University. It is located in the Radcliffe Quadrangle, which is situated north of Harvard Yard. Pforzheimer House, often referred to as "PfoHo," is known for its strong community spirit and diverse student body.

History

Pforzheimer House was established in 1974, named after Carl H. Pforzheimer, a prominent New York financier and philanthropist, and his wife, Carol. The house was formed by merging three former Radcliffe College dormitories: Comstock Hall, Moors Hall, and Holmes Hall. These buildings were originally part of Radcliffe College, which merged with Harvard University in 1999.

Architecture

The architecture of Pforzheimer House reflects its origins as part of Radcliffe College. The buildings are characterized by their traditional brick facades and Georgian architectural style. The house includes several common areas, such as the dining hall, library, and various lounges, which serve as social and study spaces for residents.
