Short definitionProstate specific antigen - (pronounced) (PROS-tayt-speh-SIH-fik AN-tih-jen) protein produced by the prostate and found in the blood. In men with prostate cancer, benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH), or infection or inflammation of the prostate, blood levels of prostate-specific antigen may be higher than normal.
