Naldecon

Composition
Naldecon is a combination medicine that contains three active ingredients: Phenylephrine, Dextromethorphan, and Acetaminophen.
- Phenylephrine is a decongestant that shrinks blood vessels in the nasal passages. Dilated blood vessels can cause nasal congestion (stuffy nose).

- Acetaminophen is a pain reliever and a fever reducer.
Uses
Naldecon is used to relieve symptoms caused by the common cold, flu, allergies, or other breathing illnesses (such as sinusitis, bronchitis). The decongestant in Naldecon can relieve stuffy nose, the cough suppressant can relieve cough, and the pain reliever/fever reducer can relieve minor aches and pains, headache, fever, and sore throat.
Side Effects
Common side effects of Naldecon may include mild headache, feeling restless or excited (especially in children), sleep problems (insomnia), or skin rash or itching. Serious side effects are rare but can include severe dizziness, anxiety, restless feeling, or nervousness.
Precautions
Before taking Naldecon, it is important to inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to any of its ingredients; or if you have any other allergies. This product may contain inactive ingredients, which can cause allergic reactions or other problems.
Interactions
Drug interactions may change how your medications work or increase your risk for serious side effects. Some products that may interact with Naldecon include: beta blockers (such as atenolol), tricyclic antidepressants (such as amitriptyline), and other drugs that can cause drowsiness (such as antihistamines, anti-seizure drugs, medicine for sleep or anxiety, muscle relaxants, and narcotic pain relievers).
