Krusty the Clown
Krusty the Clown is a fictional character in the animated television series The Simpsons. He is voiced by Dan Castellaneta and first appeared in the episode "The Krusty the Clown Show". Krusty is a cynical, burnt-out, addiction-riddled clown who hosts a popular children's television show.
Character Background
Krusty the Clown, whose real name is Herschel Shmoikel Pinchas Yerucham Krustofsky, was born to Rabbi Hyman Krustofsky and his wife. He was raised in the Lower East Side of Springfield, where he developed a love for comedy and clowning, much to the dismay of his father, who wanted him to become a rabbi.
Career
Krusty began his career as a street performer before landing his own television show, The Krusty the Clown Show. The show features a variety of segments, including slapstick comedy, cartoons, and guest appearances. Despite his on-screen persona, Krusty is often depicted as being deeply unhappy and struggling with various personal issues, including gambling, substance abuse, and financial problems.
Relationships
