The Force Awakens from Its Nap is a 2021 American animated short film based on the Star Wars franchise. It is a crossover between Star Wars and The Simpsons, created to celebrate Star Wars Day on May 4, 2021. The short was released on the streaming service Disney+.

Plot

The short film follows Maggie Simpson, the youngest member of the Simpson family, as she embarks on an adventure in a daycare that is themed around the Star Wars universe. Maggie encounters various characters and elements from the Star Wars franchise, including Darth Vader, BB-8, and The Mandalorian. The short is filled with numerous references and Easter eggs from both The Simpsons and Star Wars.

Production

The Force Awakens from Its Nap was produced by Gracie Films and 20th Television Animation. The short was directed by David Silverman, a long-time director for The Simpsons. The animation style remains consistent with The Simpsons, but incorporates elements from the Star Wars universe.

Reception

The short film received positive reviews from both The Simpsons and Star Wars fans. Critics praised the clever integration of the two franchises and the numerous references that fans of both series would appreciate.
