Finding Dory

Finding Dory is a 2016 American computer-animated adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. Directed by Andrew Stanton with co-direction by Angus MacLane, the screenplay was written by Stanton and Victoria Strouse. The film is a sequel/spinoff to 2003's Finding Nemo and features the returning voices of Ellen DeGeneres and Albert Brooks, with Hayden Rolence (replacing Alexander Gould), Ed O'Neill, Kaitlin Olson, Ty Burrell, Diane Keaton, and Eugene Levy joining the cast. The film focuses on the amnesiac fish Dory, who journeys to be reunited with her parents.

Plot

The film begins with a flashback of Dory's childhood with her parents Charlie and Jenny. Dory suffers from short-term memory loss. The film then jumps to one year after the events of Finding Nemo, where Dory begins to recall her childhood memories and decides to embark on a journey to find her parents in the Marine Life Institute, a conservatory that houses diverse ocean species.

Production

Finding Dory was co-directed by Andrew Stanton, who also directed the original Finding Nemo. The film was produced by Lindsey Collins and features music by Thomas Newman. The film took about three years to make, with a production team that included numerous individuals who worked on Finding Nemo.

Reception

Finding Dory was released in theaters on June 17, 2016. The film received positive reviews from critics and was a box office success, grossing over $1 billion worldwide.
