Cefepime hydrochloride (pronunciation: sef-EH-pim HY-droh-KLOR-ide) is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat a variety of bacterial infections. It works by stopping the growth of bacteria.

The term "Cefepime" is derived from the cephalosporin class of antibiotics, with "epime" indicating its fourth-generation status. The term "hydrochloride" refers to the hydrochloride salt form of the drug, which enhances its solubility in water.

Usage
